Review:
This movie is my ultimate guilty pleasure. His inane, manipulative, has hyperactive cutting, a ton of obvious inaccuracies (pointless even discuss or debate), and probably 29 other obvious defects. And because each shot a dramatic slow-mo bias is 3 helicopters flew over them in unison? What is the point of having 3 helicopters flying really close? Who cares! It looks cool. If one day I have a sincere discussion with my daughter, I hope that there are 3 helicopters flew over them to really bring it home (and Aerosmith performing in the background.) However, I still love to watch this movie. Anytime it on TV, I can watch til the end. Bruce Willis does a great job doing their thing Bruce Willis (smart alecky tough guy), and votes of support is really great. Steve Buscemi in particular gets the best lines. Assortment fear ragtag castoffs (spitting funny one-liners) have to save the world, which have thunk it? I think Armageddon was actually designed by office studio suits (no really, I read that in a magazine), I guess that's another strike against it. However, just a bunch of suits can come up with such a high-concept (its height as essentially a parody itself.) And just as director Michael Bay can do. He is much more suited to these kinds of movies, instead of great historical epics such as Pearl Harbor (which I really, really liked.) Read somewhere once that this film is as close as Hollywood gets a clean film, which is essentially completely divorced from the reality of any kind. Is that good or bad? I dont know. I think if you are going to ditch convention and any appearance to reality, you might as well go all the way. Its better to have something that is confusing mess that tries to be different things (Pearl Harbor.) It will not be this can really happen! here.So after all this, believe it or not I was going to give this movie a big fat whopping 8. Why? Because IMO that blatantly achieved at what it tries to show that, whatever that is. That makes no sense, because I'm basically saying to all accounts this film may actually suck logical, but I 8. But best I loved this movie.
